Why MND NSW?
As you already know, my father was diagnosed with MND at the end of January 2026. Since then he has had rapid progression of weakness and paralysis of his arms, torso and legs. MND NSW (which also covers ACT and NT) has stepped in with supply of lent aids such as tilt to stand armchair and mechanical bed which have been critical in making life doable at home. MND NSW also organises support groups and education for those with MND and their carers.

Every day two Australians are diagnosed with motor neurone disease. There is currently no cure.
Until there is a cure, there must be care. There can be big gaps in what the government health, aged care and disability systems provide, and the time frame can be inappropriately long to access these. MND NSW helps fill that gap, providing support, equipment, information and education to people living with MND, their families and healthcare professionals throughout NSW, the ACT and NT.
Your support is vital, so they can continue to be there for people living with motor neurone disease at every stage of their MND journey.
So sorry your Dad and family are going through this - I hope he finds joy in the small things and is able to have some quality of life whilst suffering from this horrendous disease. Wishing you all the best xx
