On 22nd June 2026, Bob and Tom are cycling all the way from Broome to Bowral in aid of MND NSW. This ride from Broome to Bowral isn’t about distance. It’s about time.

Motor neurone disease has no cure.

The average life expectancy after diagnosis is just 27 months.

That’s why Bob — and his grandson Tom — are riding.

Every day two Australians are diagnosed with motor neurone disease. There is currently no cure.

Support us and help raise funds so MND NSW can continue to be there for people living with motor neurone disease at every stage of their MND journey.

For over 40 years, MND NSW has supported people living with MND across NSW, the ACT and the Northern Territory.

Words from the CEO Liam O'Meara:

“Bob and Tom’s ride from Broome to Bowral is an extraordinary effort, not just in distance but in spirit. It reflects the best of our MND community - people choosing to push themselves so others facing this disease don’t have to do it alone. 

Every day in Australia, two people are told they have Motor Neurone Disease. It’s a diagnosis that changes everything instantly. With no cure and limited time, the support we provide becomes absolutely critical. 

For more than 40 years, MND NSW has been there for people living with MND, their families and carers. The equipment, the guidance, the care it all matters, and it’s only possible because of people like Bob and Tom who turn their effort into impact.
